"Come inside an' 'ave a nice cuppa tea."

Made as a surprise for FreakieGeekie because she's knee deep in the early mommy years and I thought a little bit of weird random mail might make her day Smiley.

It was really hard to find good fun fur, the fabric shop staff told me all the companies were bought up by manufacturers in China and now the quality is such that they won't order it anymore! I had to dismantle a fluffy key chain ornament I found at Michael's, can you believe that? As if this project needed to get any stranger than it already is, lol.

Thank you Smiley. We've watched the movie a few times lately, such a classic film.
The hair & side fur took a while, it's all double stitched to keep it securely in place. The eyes were fun to make, they are clear safety eyes backed with red & yellow felt. There's reinforcing fabric inside the knit & the knit is stitched tight. I would still hesitate giving him to a wee babe who is a chewer but it will be a durable toy for later years.
I wanted to keep him & both of my youngest tried to steal him so I'm happy with how he turned out.

Cool and unique idea for a sock monkey design!  It's interesting to see that Labyrinth character reinterpreted with legs and arms instead of just a tail.  So many great creature designs in that film; you could do a whole series of them if you wanted to!

I watched the movie again last night and thought the same thing. I will have to one day learn better crocheting skills so I can amigurumi all the things!

When I was stalking FG and saw she liked that film I went looking for likely crafts and found some really weird stuff like people wearing worm costumes. Totally bizarro https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/01/15/32/01153256b95d9b29788fb2d0909eb898.jpg

I don't think that there are any fictional characters that haven't been cosplayed by someone; Google image search has yet to fail me in that regard!

I knew from the thumbnail exactly what this little guy was going to be! He's terrific. You really nailed the little worm's likeness as a monkey Cheesy
