Flannel Sunrise

I was gonna post this in the More Art Less Craft section but to me if felt quite the opposite.... more craft, less art.
So here it is.
I worked on a flannel outfit for a party and had many different colors and bits left over, so decided to follow the fling I have been having lately with collage and use fabric instead.
I stuck to the same basic technique of using watered down glue to fasten it to the canvas, which was yet another Goodwill find that I simply painted over to make blank and fresh.

I fought many times about what should or should not go in the lake or at the edge of the lake. At one point I had a person in a canoe in the middle but nixed it because I liked just the nature aspect with no one around.
The canvas it about 14 by 14 inches.

How you used the plaid patterns for the landscape and dimension is really creative. That's super cool!

I love the mix of plaid/checked patterns. I never would have done this, but you really struck an unexpected harmony.

I'm thrilled to hear you added the canoe and then took it away. To me, I think it's more comtemplative, and less rooted this way.

I covet this sucker. I might just have to make my own. Fur realsies.

It's really cool, I love how unique the plaid makes it. I agree the canoe is better left out.
I've been gluing fabric lately too but I'm not sure I always like it. Sometimes it changes the colour and texture too much. There's a balance between enough to make it stick and too much so it's saturated that I haven't figured out yet. I end up giving up and going for the wonderunder when I've made things too sticky. Are you using any sort of glue you have on hand or something specific?

OK 1. This is super cool and the layers just come together perfectly. The little crinkles in the light blue even look like ripples on the water!

And 2. I want to see that flannel party outfit.
