Hook like there's no tomorrow.

Well, after seeing anderlance's awesome Neon Lion afghan I knew I would have to try and make one for my son Michael.

So I purchased the pattern from Judy Calevro Masell's Ravelry store http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/neon-lion
at Christmas time.

I only had to buy three skeins of black yarn as the rest of the afghan I made using all my stash and left-over yarns.
So the colors are just whatever I had and I even used a couple of variegated yarns. I wasn't sure how that would turn out but I think it worked fine.

I used a size H cabled afghan hook. It's stitched using the afghan stitch with single crochet stitches for the border and a final double crochet shells stitch for the last border row to give it a framed appearance.

I did manage to take a couple of pictures during the making of it - even though it meant getting all the yarns tangled up while moving it to the floor for the shots).

The back shot that I took of it here was after I had already spent hours weaving in some of the ends. So, by the time this whole thing was done there were tons of more ends to weave in.

I can't wait to give it to Michael. I think he'll really like it.
It's an awesome pattern.

WTG pesky pixie!!!  Don't you love how versatile this afghan can be?  I just love how you can pretty well use up all of your stash.  It is nice to see it done in the afghan stitch I sure hope you send a pic to Judy. Well done!!
