I recently participated in the Warm & Cozy swap, with the lovely LadybugsAndBumblebees as my partner.  As my main project for the swap, I crocheted a blanket sweater for her.  But since it didn't have any sort of closure, I decided to try my hand at making a shawl pin to go with it.  This was created from 14 gauge wire, and wrapped with some thinner copper and bronze wire, and finished with deep teal AB beads.

Important to note:  Dogs do NOT like the sound of you hammering wire on your work desk, as they try to nap underneath it!   Cheesy

Oooh. This is really lovely. The gems are really pretty touch to the hammered wire and two metal tones.

This is really beautiful. Though the pup didn't like it, I love the look of the hammered wire.

The hammered metal looks so textural and nice, great compliment with the wire wrap and gems. I saw a pic of it with the sweater you made, super beautiful.

Thanks guys!  I'm thinking of ordering some more wire to try a few more of these.  Especially since I'm in the middle of making another shawl, and I have a few skeins of yarn for *another* shawl after that!  Anyone else have too many craft project irons in the fire at a time?
