Some how we ended up with too much bacon grease! And just about the time I realized this, Delia ran out of dog biscuits. (not all treats, just biscuits)

So I whipped up some squirrel and bone shaped biscuits using a recipe from this blog that I had pinned on Pinterest: http://dukesandduchesses.com/bacon-dog-biscuits/

Thanks! She had a pretty good day, KP Duty-wise, too! Very good bowls to lick!

Fantastic! Do you know how many of your projects I have bookmarked? Sigh, the zip lock baggie drying rack, the fabric xmas tree (I found the fabric at Ikea the other day, I am SO HAPPY!), clothes pin apron, yarn dolls, ice balls, elasto table cover, and now bacon biscuits. I don't have a dog but I do have 2 liter mason jars full of bacon grease and keep making more faster than I could ever possibly use it up. And we've got that squirrel cookie cutter too! Thanks for the link, I'll have to make these for the neighbourhood dogs.

WOW! Thank you so much! We must have similar inclinations to "practical crafting"! I have made these before in a triple batch as a dog-contribution to a fund-raiser bake sale at The ManFlesh's office. And just about ran us out of bacon grease (oh the humanity!), but we ended up with a small can "contaminated" with maple bacon grease, so now I am dedicating that one to dog treats.

Not to deprive the pooches but... I melt bacon fat with butter for popcorn, maple bacon grease would be SO delish for that.

Ok, peanut butter bacon dog biscuits? Tell me more! I am always bringing the neighbours cookies and cakes, it would be fun to include canine cookies too!

We have some peanut butter versions in our repertoire, too!

Oh, we use the bacon fat in cooking, but because I made bacon jam this fall we ended up with WAY more than we justify storage space for. So the maple stuff is on the way out!

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.
