My mom passed away in July of 2016 and while I was helping dad go through her stuff, I discovered she had many Christmas themed pins.  I decided I would make each of her grandchildren a Keepsake Ornament using these pins.  Dad wanted one and then I decided myself and my brother should have one too.  I have not made mine yet because I ran out of time before Christmas.

This collage shows the front and back of each ornament, with the exception of the bottom middle and right, which are the ones for my own sons.  The top left is my dad's and it's quilted.  The next three are rag quilted and then three are in plastic balls.

Everyone loved them and I know they will remember their wife/mom/grammie/nana every year they are hung.

What a neat idea!

I just shipped my mom's jewelry off to her granddaughters.  This would have been a lovely way to display her (not christmas) pin collection!

I am sorry to hear of your mom's passing.  I know your family will love the ornaments as a reminder of their love for her.

I really love that you repurposed her jewelry into lovely things!  I love the little snowmen.

excelsior - sorry for your loss.

A wonderful way to display your mother's jewelry. I still have a lot of my mother's things - this is a great way to finally pass them on to her children & grandchildren.

I have a pin that is in the shape of a silver bell - the back post is wobbly and probably about to fall off. Time to make an ornament, I think.
