Photos please! The stencils and painted papers.... Grin Grin Grin

This will be photo heavy.  I linked to the mylar sheets above and they were good quality.  10 for $12.99.  they are 6 mil sheets.  I found another pack on amazon for 20 sheets for the same price and also 6 mil.  I just ordered them and will see if they are the same quality.

if you go for 4 mil sheets you can them even cheaper but I liked the thickness of the ones I got.

These are some of the paper stencils I cut over a year ago.  They get sturdier as the layers of paint dry but of course you can't wash them and if they get too wet with paint they can tear.  Also if you don't put plastic or wax paper between them they can stick together and tear when you try to get them apart.

you can see some paper stuck to the circle stencil.  If I try to get it off completely the stencil will tear.

Here you can see where one stencil did tear, probably got too wet

Here are some of the ones I cut from mylar.  They are nice and sturdy. and still very flexible.

this is a mask I cut out with mylar

printed on tape

On the edge you can see I just wiped off the paint.  So fairly easy to clean up.

Oooo those stencils look so nice! I'll have to get some mylar, I bet it would be great for cutting more detailed stencils. You're colors and laying look great! Man, gelli prints are just like super amazing! So glad I learned about them!

I love making stencils on my cricut, such a handy machine. I cut all mine out of transpancy sheets. I have a few different sized gelli plates, and the cricut is great for making different sized stencils for each one. I don't worry about cleaning them, since I can make new ones anytime. And I hang all of mine up to dry. I got one of these thingys (don't know the name so I'll just post the picture) to organize my stickers, but inever use stickers so I thought it would work for my stencils. I think I saw Carolyn Dube do something similar.

I always though an old lamp, and a lampshade 'skeleton', would work just as well. You can get similar clips at Ikea for a couple bucks.

If you have smaller stencils (4-6 inch ones) you can also get something like those small vanity hand towel holders and get those clips separately or use binder rings and hang them too - I got mine at Marshall's/Winners/Homesense for something like $9 CDN - I was using mine for holding and displaying art tags.
