I am in a bad way here. Once again the studio is in a state of epic disarray and I'm struggling to walk around in there let alone find supplies or make anything. I have been so careful not to add much to the stash except yarn lately, but I think we can all agree I've made a great effort to use up what I brought in with all those crocheted goodies! It's down to a smallish bin of acrylic and another of natural fibers, just two containers in total so I am doing good! The rest of it though, ugh.
I have a plan and I'm chipping away at it almost every day. I have to organize and purge some things but I also have 2 very large projects I'm going to start, after fixing all my broken photobucket images of course :/. I may post some progress pics if I feel like I'm actually making some headway. I don't usually work in large scale but I'm making an exception in this case.
How about you guys, anybody got a plan to use something up that's been sitting around gathering dust? Some UFOs that are perfect for a busy summer of road trips and hanging around outside? I walk around with yarn dangling from my purse but I'm coming to the end of what I feel inspired to crochet for now. I need to keep my hands busy or I go a little crazy. Along with those big projects I'd better come up with a small travel craft idea, a new one, we are fully loaded with mushroom houses around here, ha ha.

I spent the entire weekend going from end to end in my main craftroom...purging stuff, organizing...lots of fabrics to put back, etc. I feel like I made a lot of progress, but I still have way too much stuff and I find that when I discover something, I want to make something right away, so my cleaning gets interrupted easily! ha ha

I am working on a journal, catching up with posting pics, etc. Hey...I finally de-puffed the little TM patch you gave us last year and made myself a little coaster to use for my water bottle that I keep next to me while I craft and work on my computer!

I am going to finish a couple of quilts before starting new ones...and I am finishing a shawl that I am making for kittykill.

I am going to tackle the paper/paint room next...I have to remind myself that I will be retiring in less than 530 days, so I have to get this stuff under control before then...I don't want to be hauling it all to the beach! lol

I made over 140 tissue holders last month plus another 20 earlier this year. When I figured up the yardage, I was floored! I de-stashed 8 yards of fabric just making the simple things (35 went to charity, the other 125 are for a club event next month).

This is actually the SIXTH bag I made with this print: I totally forgot to get pics of the other five bags and the shop where I left them sold out before I could get back for a pic! Tongue

After consideration, I believe this does belong here since my husband donated his old BDUs to my stash pile to be re-purposed.

The Army/Nat'l Guard were issued new BDUs and told to "get rid of" their old ones. My hubs was going to toss them in the trash Shocked but I told him I could use them to make stuff. I especially wanted the tops because they have two-way zippers and those things aren't cheap (cheapest I've seen was $4/each). And it doesn't hurt that BDUs are made of a nicely sturdy cotton/nylon blend (it's 50/50, I think) that hold up well to wear and tear.
