I sometimes read on other quilt forums and on one of them some people mentioned having a quilt/sewing buddy.  Does anyone have one? I found the concept interesting. I did hear about small groups and quilt guilds are known, but this was new to me.

I don't have a "buddy" yet, but I do quilt with a group that meets at the Senior Center (we make quilts either for donation, or for the Senior Center to sell or raffle to make money) and, as a group, they are my quilt buddies.  There are a few "buddies" within the group, who enjoy getting together one-on-one to work on projects or just to hang out.  Some were friends before they both started quilting, and some became good friends after joining our little group.  I hang out with them when I can (Mondays and Wednesday nights when I have the day/night off), but have not done much one-on-one with anyone yet.

I don't have any but I sure wish I did. I have some work on display right now that's led to a request to lead an informal class, maybe that will happen in the new year and I'll find friends who will want to get together for stitching. I hope so.

I met klum78 through Craftster many years ago and she's one of my best friends now! We sew together,  joined a guild together,  worked on the guild board together.  In fact, she just left my house half an hour ago, she came over to help me sort my fabric and organize my scraps!
