Hi  Grin

Ive recently seen a project I want to do but it involves binding the scrapbook using caulk (bathroom sealant)
Im not sure on the longevity of this and dont want to mess up a xmas gift and have to start again! Is this a reliable method of binding?

Oh wow, that is a wild idea. I tried to do some research on it but there isn't much out there. I have to say that I do think it would work though - caulk is waterproof and lasts a long time. Are you able to test it out first? Maybe gather a bunch of scrap paper together and use some spare book board or cardboard as the covers?

Please let me know if this works out for you, I'm very curious. Good luck!

It would work, but I would worry about the longevity.  From what my husband says about bathroom caulk (he does renos) is that the new formulations still will dry and shrink, which is why he has to remove and recaulk every few years - so I would be concerned about your binding shrinking, drying, and possibly being brittle over time.
