So, my son came to me about a month ago and says, "Mom, I know what I want to be for Halloween this year.  Edward Scissorhands."  Oh dear boy, so you ARE my child!  LOL!

I had so much fun making this costume!  We thrifted just about everything.

White shirt, pants, and suspenders were from the Salvation Army.

Under leather neck/chest piece was made entirely from a black purse I picked up at Goodwill.

Wig was purchased new, and slightly altered to look more Edward-y.

Candy bucket was an old pumpkin bucket we had laying around, that I painted green, and then hot glued pieces of a fake plant I picked up from Goodwill as well.

The Crown Jewels of the costume, the scissorhands, were made from goalie gloves and thick foam.  I just cut scissor shapes from the thick foam, painted them scissor-y colors, and hot glued them to the black goalie gloves.  The pointer fingers I made into actual moving scissors for a more realistic look, although you can't really cut anything with them, well, maybe air.  LOL!

Kiddo had a great time trick or treating.  He really got into character and wouldn't smile when people spoke to him, and shuffled a tad when he walked.  He even learned how to pick candy out of baskets with his scissorhands by the end of the night!

I hope you like it, he sure did, and I sure enjoyed making it!

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.
