Willing to personal swap for art of my doggies!

I had been wanting to make a mini ornament diorama for awhile and finally got around to doing it this year.  This is made from an unbreakable ornament that I cut open and decorated.  I am happy how it turned out, and this may be something I may make different versions of for the future for the ornaments I make for others.

More pics and about the process on my blog if anyone is interested.

I also have a big one that I started too - especially as some of the miniatures I bought were way too big for the regular sized ornament, but I need to resupply myself, and maybe think it through more - even the small one was a bit heavy when decorated.  Also, being as big as it is, I would like to be able to add a battery pack and fairy lights if possible.

I remember buying the large one at the Dollar Tree to experiment with and the cashier saying, "Why would a person buy just one ornament?"  When I told her my plan, she was so happy, and turned to her coworker and said, "That's why I love to ask customers about their purchases, they always have the best ideas!"  It was nice to know she liked the idea too Smiley

Thanks everyone!

I hope to find more miniatures (preferably surrounded by the words DISCOUNT, SALE, CHEAP, and CLEARANCE), so making more may be on plan for next year.

On saying that, I do have some bare twigs and some glass snowmen beads I bought, so there may be some snowmen ones when I get around to getting more ornaments and other materials. Or monochromatic ones as I have some metal charms too.

It's my habit to always dig in the holiday/seasonal section at thrift stores all year long and I have found quite a few mini Christmas/winter items there in the off season when others aren't looking so hard.

My local thrift stores kind of suck - one is primarily clothes and books, and barely any crafting/household goods - or it is really crappy.  The other is just a huge skeevy mess - but good for things like odd bits of china and stuff -but their prices are not great, except for books.

Your little diorama turned out really nice! I had sticker-shocked at the cost of miniatures in craft stores, so I totally can relate to those keywords you are looking for. Can't wait to see your future ornament dioramas when you get that miniature stash built back up! Smiley

Oh, also, have you looked at this site? http://www.tinythingsarecute.com/

They have so many teeny, vintage looking things. Occasionally they have site-wide discounts, too. Grin
