Kind of a Spoiler Warning for the end of Season Six and the first episode of Season Seven of The Walking Dead!

I know not everyone gets to see it at the same time so I don't want to inadvertently ruin anything for anyone - even if it is entirely stylized and not realistic.

Okay, PSA over....

Now I am a Huge (note the capital H) fan of The Walking Dead. Ever since season six ended with the introduction of Negan, I started toying with the idea of making a few little art dolls. And little they turned out. I kept downsizing and downsizing my pattern because they just looked so flippin' cute being so small. They're 8inches / 20cm tall, with a good portion of that total coming from their noggins.

Initially I thought to make them simple, but then I just kept adding...and adding..and adding. Ha! The zippers are real, but the zipper pulls were wayyyy too big for them (one was as big as Michonne's whole vest) so I made teeny tiny ones out of craft foam. And why make plain shoes when you can give them itty bitty laces? With clay soles and added heels? And pfft to painting on Daryl's wings - where's the fun in that? Of course you can make real applique wings that are only a couple centimetres big. Suuure, self. Sounds like fun. Tongue

Eyes have been painted and the facial hair is laid on by hand (because I'm crazy). I wasn't happy with the painting entirely, but I've recently purchased some tiny nail brushes so I can --hopefully-- get cleaner lines on my next wee faces.

..wow I ramble a lot.

Anyway, I finally finished them the day 7x01 aired and to be honest that episode had me wishing I had not made Negan.  Cry (Still not over it) But since I did, I figured I may as well put him to use and re-enact a few of the more tame scenes.

Individual shots:

Daryl Dixon

(bonus all important wing shot!)

Rick Grimes

Negan (& Lucille)

(And bonus Richonne shot)

(apologies for the watermarks, I tagged them for uploading to other social media sites and forgot to save the unwatermarked versions. derp!)

Oh, oh! I forgot - you can totally tell from the photographs, but they all have an internal armature so they can be posed (because why display when you can play? Tongue)

And it's sort of hard to tell the scale of them, so here's a Work-in-progress shot of Michonne for an idea of how big (or small) they are.

Thanks for clicking! ..and for reading this far!  Kiss

Wow! These are amazing!!!

And I know what you mean about Negan!  But, as my bestie Gozer says, you have a boring show if you don't have a good bad guy!  And he certainly is a good bad guy, for SURE!

OMG!!   Shocked

These are absolutely amazing!  I can't believe the amount of detail you have managed to fit into 8 inches!  I don't know which doll is my favorite, but Michonne looks super cool in doll form.   Smiley

This Rocks!

And see, this is why Craftster is becoming my favourite place --- here weird & obsessive crafting that takes up all your free time is celebrated, not frowned upon. Tongue  Thanks guys!  Cheesy

the details on the vest blow me away... oh, and the barbed wire on lucille....and their tiny shoes...and the brooding faces and disheveled hair...and....ALL of it!

you need to send these photos in to The Talking Dead. They do fan art segment and you are for sure to be showcased with these.
