It's almost time for the barrage of holidays to descend upon us. I have been carrying the same purse for a while now and wanted to try a new pattern out. I ordered fabric but it went missing, delivery issue. I was itching to sew so I decide to do a practice run of the pattern first with some Halloween themed fabrics to get in the Halloween spirit.

This was my first time trying the twist lock. The type I bought was super easy to install. Ridiculously easy. Highly recommend anyone nervous to do them to just take the plunge. You'll be shocked at how easy it is. My wall is blue and my shadow is in the shot, sorry. I wanted to show the length of the strap.

The fabric is eyeballs with coordinating stripes and a hot pink interior.

The sides called for snaps to expand it.

I am used to thicker interfacing so I was nervous about this one. It called for SF 101 and some medium weight sew in. I think it worked out well though. I liked the swivel clip details too. It holds a lot and is comfortable on my arm.  Grin

I'll carry this one until November. I had fun sewing it up. The pattern is the Notting Hill Bag by SusieDDesigns. I got it on Etsy.
Thanks for checking it out!!! Cheesy

Gozer--you do beautiful work!  I love the mix of fabrics and thanks for your review of some of the supplies you used!

I have not made a bag in a very long time...might have to check out your pattern...it looks like a generous size to hold everything securely!

The size is approx. 11 3/4" x 9 x 2 3/4". The only drawback I see so far is that I always carry my Kindle with me. It tends to pull everything to the center due to it's weight and shape. That makes the top flap stick up a bit on the corners. It's not very noticeable since it's carried under your arm but I thought I would mention that. I should put the Kindle in the pocket and see if it fixes the issue. Tongue

I will have to do a tutorial on a neat little trick that I use to hold up the center of the purse...I carry a lot of heavy stuff in my bags!
