Awesome projects! Happy December all!!  Grin

The November Iron Chef Hogwarts Challenge is CLOSED. Thanks to Mistress Jennie and FiberAlchemist for their CRANBERRY entries!

The secret ingredient for December is....

COFFEE!

Get gritty with this coffee-chile dry rub,  take on winter with a coffee chili, or put a twist on a traditional favorite with these coffee chocolate chip cookies!

Abbeeroad-- I posted for the Cranberry challenge as well. I squeaked under at the last moment last night. I believe I may have mistakenly posted it as "December " but have fixed it.

Ooh! lovely Journal. It makes me want to get paper making again. If only I used the journals I make. Sigh.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Astronomy
SPEW: n/a.
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: The hope of Spring brought to Christmas
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: I hand make my Christmas cards each year, its a highlight of my recycling year and as the year returns (like a meteorite shower) so does my enthusiasm for all things green. I would like to present my set of 6 snow drop Christmas cards. The wee pictures of spring-heralding snowdrops were on a card I received last year, their layered backdrops are also recycled, the shinies are foil sweet wrappers and they are all on small squares of my handmade paper. Which again is recycled from the junk mail that comes through my letterbox, so they are green by colour as well as credentials. The cards themselves are from an inherited stash. Id love to say there are 6 layers on each card, but Id have to count the glue to do that! The cards don't take that long to assemble, but the paper squares are a labour of love.

Antidigger- Those handmade cards are amazing! I love your green paper squares. Recycled paper making is on my "to do" craft list.  I have never attempted it. I am inspired...maybe the new year will be when I finally "do". Cheesy

continuing my project dump

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Trees ribbon
SPEW: n/a.
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: mug rug
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: literally and figuratively this is ribbon, it is a little mug rug that I have made for my latest random act of craftiness, it should be dropping on the mat of the unsuspecting recipient soon. This is a gift for someone (not in this craftalong) who organised a lot of swaps this year and so tied a lot of people together.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Trees tinsel
SPEW: n/a.
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Alternative advent wreath
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: I love advent wreaths and normally make them all traditional with green and red and white or red candles. This year, inspired by my ongoing flamingo obsession, I give you the flamingo wreath. All glitz and sparkle, with extra LEDS along with the candles, here it is with one candle lit.

SPEW: n/a.
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: ornament
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: Now that my partner has received, I can post the HP ornament, inspired by nature, this was an assemblage, although i did have to paint the deer. I added 'Always' to the bottom as I liked how it all came together.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Trees -treeskirt
SPEW: n/a.
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: cushions
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: these are a pair of cushions from some tie dyed fabric. Soft and welcoming.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Trees -icicles
SPEW: n/a.
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: two kinds of banana bread, with regular and with gluten free flour
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: Interesting the difference in size, the only difference was the flour. I used this recipe

http://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/banana_bread/

and my last Trees project. this completes these too

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Trees -Bells
SPEW: n/a.
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Super yummy stir fry
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: This looks as good as it tastes.

I stirfried one chicken breast in a teaspoon of oil with 1 crushed clove of garlic, chopped half a fresh chilli and 1/2 inch ginger.

When they are close to being done I added loads of chopped veggies (about 2-3 cups total in what ever combination you like), courgette cut into batons, sugarsnap peas, chopped onion, tenderstem brocolli, asparagus, mushroom etc. and continued to stir fry for another few minutes. I like my veggies crunchy.

When done I add about a table spoon of soy sauce and 1 teaspoon of sesame oil

and enjoy. Simple, tasty, really filling and super health.
