I love these little Ninni swaps. They are so cute and easy to make and fun. Simply fun. Here's the gallery https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=449843.0

My partner loves Nancy Drew, so what better than a Ninni Drew, Nancy's little sister. She has a few of her sister's books, and Nancy's old flashlight and magnifying glass.

The props were made out of paper clay and painted. The lens is a large flat glass marble thingy and the lens of the flashlight is a small jiggly eye. The books were simply printed out old covers.

The pleated skirt was the hardest. I had not made little pleats since my DD was just a little thing (she's in her 30's now). But I managed, it's a bit wonky, but looks good on Ninni. I made the back plain, no costume/embellishments...is that cheating? And the bag was repurposed from another doll I received in a swap. My friends niece co-opted the doll and the bag stayed behind. Sometimes you just have to let them find their own home.

Cool little project!  I particularly like that you used patterned fabric for her face (I can't decide if those things are Dandelion fluff or snowflakes); that's not something you see done too often.  The accessory selection you made is super neat too.  I don't think leaving the back plain is cheating, a lot of toy manufacturers (cough**Mattel**cough) do it all the time.

I think I may have read a Nancy Drew book or two over the years, but, it was usually the Hardy Boys or Sherlock Holmes for me.

I found the history of the books interesting. How she was spunky and brave in the earlier books, then in rewrites in the 70's-80's they made her wimpier and more of a victim. Sheesh, they can't even leave our heroines alone. I did not read much Nancy Drew, so this was fun.

She was too plain with a solid color face and I had to get some Ninni life into her...they are hardly the staid type...so the geometric print was fun. I don't know what the design is either!

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

She is too adorable! Her pleated skirt is my favorite part, or maybe it is her hair. Then you've given her a bag of wonderful accessories...oh, I just think all of it is fantastic!

I was the lucky recipient! And, not only are the pleats pretty non-wonky, her little collar is perfect! I love the swoop of her blonde hair, and her little copies of the books. She's got a little twinkle in her eye that lets you know that she has just the right amount of mischief in her Smiley

I love it when the Ninnis are turned into recognizable and lovable characters!

She is just perfect in her details...the amazing skirt is my favorite (and the tiny books!)...

I never read a Nancy Drew book just because  the one I read a little of her made her seem like a wimp. I do love your little Ninni, so cute and I  you're  not alone with the pleats. I haven't  done them in years and yours look just fine.
