I vaguely know how i would make a swimsuit (aka a bodysuit without crotch poppers, i wouldnt swim in it) from a big tee shirt but i want to know if anyone has any advice? do i need elastic at the arms and butt or not?

I wanna make a Weyland-Yutani or Tyrell Corp swimsuit Cheesy

I would put elastic in to keep the knit from stretching or getting saggy.  I made myelf some undies from an old tshirt and didn't put elastic around the legs (used self-fabric binding of sorts), and they get really saggy-baggy by the end of the day of wearing them even under snug-fitting jeans.
I would also get a "throwaway" thsirt to practice on, so that you don't mess up the actual finished product.  If you like the ractice run enough, then you have 2 for the price of one!

Good Luck!

Thank you for the advice! I wasn't sure myself. Would I use a zigzag stitch thru the elastic I suppose?

yes, zig the elastic; cut it a bit smaller than the opening and stretch it to fit.

you say you aren't swimming, so the way tee shirt material becomes see-through when wet isn't important to you, right?

thank you. No, it will be to wear out and about . I just can't deal with body poppers at all! it sounds counterintuitive possibly but a swimsuit would be easier for me to change in and out of. plus i could wear it outside in summer

Sounds like a great idea, what's the T shirt made from?
