Magic Karp was crocheted with a 5mm hook and Red Heart Comfort yarn in orange, white and yellow.  Pattern can be found here:

There were a few errors in pattern where the fins are concerned but when you refer to reference photo they are fairly easy to figure out.  Thanks for viewing.

Excellent job!  You captured the creature's likeness well in crocheted form; I instantly recognized the Pokemon from the thumbnail image alone.

I've always admired Magikarp because I like the idea that a nearly-useless creature can eventually become a devastatingly powerful one if you stick with it long enough to evolve it into a Gyarados.

I don't want to alarm you, but it does appear your specimen has developed a taste for human brains . . .
