For the most recent sock monkey swap.

The outfit, I scoured thrift stores until I found just the right sort of fabric. It was a skirt before it became this vest, overcoat and Deer Stalker hat. There are snaps under the buttons for easy fastening.
I usually leave monkeys pants free because I think they look so funny that way, like Pooh Bear.

Back of the overcoat.

Here he is nakkie Wink

And a close up of the spiral ears I favour. It's just a rolled tube of sock fabric turned round in a spiral and stitched in place.

I received an absolutely incredible sock monkey in return. That has got to be one of the best swaps going!

Wow.  I'm in awe of the little clothes!  I've tried, and failed, so many times, and yours are flawless!

He's an absolutely amazing sock monkey!

Amazing simian version of the great detective.  You did a fab job on the clothing and those curly ears are neat-o.  All he needs now are little pipe and magnifying glass accessories!

I was TOTALLY going to make those! But the patterns for the outfit gave me a bit of grief and I ran out of time. Then the swap was extended by a couple of days but I'd already mailed out to be on time Tongue. I was a little sad about that but very happy I conquered the clothes and the hat. Have you ever sewn a lined vest? Gah, tricky!
