I received an amazing package from helenapuck today!

A mask that represents our common state of Alaska

And two hoops! I love cross stitch hoops! First a fox and then a superhero hoop! The common ground was love of hooplas and superheroes.

She also included some cute smokey the bear coloring and comic book extras which the kids already stole.

Thank you so much!!!

So glad you liked everything.

I completely missed the request for the close up. If you look close at the Northern Lights above the mountains, you can see that the colors are changing. So beautiful!

I also forgot to mention the dark chocolate bar that was eaten, shared of course, before the photo was taken. Yummy!

Yay! That was me! And I'm so happy you saw my request - Thank you! I love how you depicted the Northern Lights with varigated thread but still kept it clean. I Also love the repetitious stitches that read as a solid, and how you used the whole space. The change in stitch direction is what defines the shape, and the caps in solid black? Smart.

Stellar!

Ha! I just realized it's sitting on hot air balloon leggings. Those are sweet.

I got a fabulous package from Chameleon Hound. I was totally spoiled!

this is the whole package...see spoiled!

check out the best flamingo fabric on the left!! loads of it...these will be pillowcases.

she sent me this fabulous fabric, we both love these colours, particularly turquoise, blues.

Next out of the box was this brilliant pair of shoes, painted with feathers, we share a love of feathers and feather prints

I love these!!

And my favourite, she sent me a headstart travel journal for our US road trip next year. This is a brilliantly thoughtful thing, she decorated some of the pages and sent some stickers for embellishment

she also sent me these great map fabrics (we share a love of travel)

and last and best, we also love unloved creatures. I particularly love tentacles. She sent me an octopus, holding a jar of sand from one of her favourite beaches.

this swap was brilliant. And not only all the amazing goodies above, but two bags of jelly beans!! YUM

and a roll of freezer paper, which was really needed, there was so much in this package, I was completly spoilt.

thank you xx

LadyBugsAndBumblebees sent me a fabulous package that I want to share with everyone. She sent one of my favorite candies but the commonality is that it was also her grandmother's favorite. I think I would have really liked her.

Then LBBB knows that I'm gathering things to create a miniature Santa's workshop so she crocheted two rugs and scarves plus hand-stitched two pillows for my dollhouse. It reminded her of her childhood when her mother would create a miniature outdoor scene using a mirror as a lake and cotton as snow.

LBBB and I both love to read and we both crochet (a lot!), so she made me a crocheted Kindle cover. It has a double padded lining and is done in my favorite shade of blue. Perfect!

We each love totes and use them like crazy. And again she's used my favorite colors (black, white, blue, cream) for the exterior and one of my favorite patterns (paisley) for the lining. The size is absolutely wonderful for some of my larger crochet projects. I found out last month that I'm going to be a grandmother, so a baby blanket is going to be the first project for which I'll use it. What a great way to christen the tote!

The concrete things we have in common were pretty easy to identify, but we've also looked at the less obvious commonalities. As LBBB has listed: we both value our spirituality and are involved in our religious communities, we are both generous souls who enjoy doing things for our communities, and as former teachers who no longer teach, we acknowledge that being out of a classroom doesn't take away our knowledge, experiences, or achievements. Then too, we each have two daughters, LBBB has a son, I have a SIL, and we have husbands who have been with us through good times and bad and are still hanging in there with us! I'd say we're pretty lucky women.

Digging those miniatures!  I'm always so blown away by people who can knit or crochet miniature items.  The tote is awesome, too, and congrats on grandmotherhood, kbrison!  Someday, that will be me too, I hope. (Fervently-- babies are the BEST! Especially when you can just spoil them and then return them. Ha!)

And that story about the horehound candies is very sweet.

Just got back from living in a field for two weeks, and what a lovely gallery I have found! I'm especially jealous of the patchwork skirt, fabric tote, and these hoops. And I'm glad my partner got her box with everything intact! Huzzah! Now let's see what the mail will bring tomorrow...
