My real life and Craftster friend, Roler, has three adorable degus. I decided I had to make a degu pattern so I can have one of my own! You can get the pattern for free here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/degu

And here are two of Roler's degus!

Very cute, the form/anatomy look good, and I love the tuft of fuzz at the end of the tail.  Are Degus similar to Chinchillas?

This little degu looks just like my Bubbles!!  Sooooo cute! XD

And yes, degus are about the same size as rats but are more closely related to chinchillas.

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

Hi storerboughtcreations! I like how tight your stitches are (I tend to size down the hook to make sure stuffing doesn't show). Did you do the same?  And did you wire the legs to provide the upright support?

I'm off to check out degu deets.  I thought I was pretty up on small creatures.

Yes, that's exactly what I did. I used a size E hook with worsted weight yarn. And I used wire (sorry, icing remember what gauge... Maybe 12?) in the arms and legs.
