This is actually a tattoo I designed for myself, but it is up at First Studio in Phoenix AZ right now for the Animal Menagerie show! I guess someone liked it Wink

The octopus represents being flexible, open-minded and creative, while the heart goes with the old saying "wear your heart on your sleeve" (yes, this tattoo is on my arm.) which means to always speak your mind and be open with your feelings, expressing them freely.

The difficulty between showing your emotion towards something and being flexible/open minded at the same time is why I called it "The Struggle". But this is something I have learned to do.

This is a really lovely piece. I would love for you to share a picture of the tattoo when it is finished.

Very beautiful. I love the flow of the colors and such great symbolism. Yes, we need to see this once it's inked on you!

Beautiful colors! Such a well-done piece! Good luck on the art show!

This lovely lady is my daughter in law, and I can tell you that somehow she has managed to find that perfect balance between being passionate about what she believes and yet still open minded and attentive to others' feelings too.

Yes, I'm biased, but it's all still true!

PS I love all your art, girl, keep posting!

That's an awesome design and I'm sure it'll look great inked on flesh too!  When I saw an octopus and human heart together, the first thing that came to my mind was that Cthulhu must be hungry, lol, although your explanation is much better.

What an amazing piece this will be once your tattoo is finished! I think it would be pretty darn great matted and framed too.

May you be in heaven a half hour before the devil knows your dead.
