I'm going to a festival this summer, therefore chances are it will rain Cheesy

I don't want to carry wellies about, just in case it doesn't rain (and they're not the most comfy of footwear for long periods anyway) so I was pleased to spot these in a charity shop. They're a nice make, but I don't really wear much blue, and they just looked a bit boring being the same colour all over.

Acrylics, sharpies and posca pens to the rescue!
I painted the main fabric panel at the sides with acrylic paint mixed with a little pva white glue, then decided on a mandala style design for each one, and a paisley design for the top stitched area after I had painted it brown. Just a few odd lines and marks on the rubber part, and white stripes up the back.

I did a little light sanding to make them look a bit more worn as they were a bit too brand new looking. I'm sure they'll get nice and mucky and worn in in no time! Cheesy

I don't have a before photo other than this one, which doesn't show the sides Undecided ...

Wow! What a super customization! And a great solution to the undeniable unpredictability of festival weather.

These are so much fun! Definitely beats boring old monotone boots. I'd totally wear them everyday if they were mine Wink

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

You won't be doing to much walking in those because everyone will be stopping you to ask where you bought them!

Thank you! I'm excited to go wear them now. I'll probably get a lot of use out of them now they're less boring! Cheesy

Looking at the fronts, I may add some beads and things to those boring laces too...hmm...

Ooh, thank you!

I'll definitely have to take an after photo once I come back. Hopefully they'll stand up to the likely mud Cheesy We've been having some rain and flash floods here this week so these have been my go-to footwear!
