What stitches did you use? That looks so smooth; at first I thought it was machine stitched. Also: DAY-UM.

I used a double strand of embroidery thread and didn't use a specific "stitch" necessarily. I worked around to use the stitch to try and definite areas and give shape to his face (as much as I could anyway.). You might call it a short/long stitch....maybe.  Cheesy
