I train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and one of my best friends and training partners is moving away for work for a year or two. She has to leave her loving little dog behind in the care of her boyfriend and it's killing her, so I thought a pet portrait would be a perfect parting gift. I'm not sure that I have even drawn or painted a dog in my life, so this was completely new to me, but I'm kinda happy with how it turned out. I think I mostly captured Nyla's likeness. I can see a few areas where I could have done better, but overall, I'm happy. I wanted to make it pop artish to keep it cool and fresh. As it turns out, my friend fell head over heels for the art, so I'm thrilled!

It was drawn in copic markers on marker paper

I hope you like!

This is wonderful! I'm not surprised a bit that she loved it and I know she'll always treasure it.

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

It is a perfect likeness! How sad to have to leave a fur baby behind. You have given her something she can hold dear for many years.
