I made this hoop for the One Tiny Unloved Creature Swap. My partner roler loves moray eels, and even has a cute photo blog of stuffie eels on adventures! So I knew I wanted to create something with that.

I used this photo by Fred Bavendam for reference, and somehow wound up shortening the snout... so I don't know if it looks weird now? But I still like it!

I made tiny french knots for the mottling on the back.

And tiny teeth!

I'm happy I got to stitch this lovely critter for the swap, because I'm sure I would never have thought to do it otherwise.

TOTALLY amazing. Incredible stitching. Morays have that look of a jutting lower jaw that characterizes them so even with your slighty shorter jaw, it works sooo well.

I think this is one of my favorites ever!  Your stitching is lovely and the details you got are impressive!

You did a wonderful job capturing the likeness and feel...the eye is even a bit scary!

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

Nice job, especially on the mottled scale pattern.  I bet it would probably take forever to replicate the coral in that source photo in stitches!
