I stitches this lil guy for the lucky charm challenge (but misread the due date oops Roll Eyes ) so I guess I'll just post it here.
Acorns and oak leaves have become a sort of a personal icon for me since my dad died. Every "big" life event since his passing, an acorn or oak leaf have appeared in the most random places. When I bought my first home, an acorn was on the front porch on the move in day (no oak trees in sight). When I found out i was pregnant and it was a girl and oak leaf landed on my back stairs and stayed put for three days, until I finally gave in and picked it up. When one of my best friends died an acorn was at his gravesite at the funeral. Hes always around me showing his silent support and that's why the acorn has become my personal lucky charm.
On to the photo:

It's a little wonky but I'm still trying to learn embroidery, and its only a 3 inch hoop. I honestly dont know the names of the stitches but it was a fun little thing to play around with while watching TV.  I used my tattoo as inspiration for the size/shape.

Cc definitely welcome (encouraged really, I'm trying to get better here)  Wink

Would love a personal swap! Send me a Pm Smiley I am always up for a personal hoopla, felt badge, or magnet swap!

I love your little acorn and the story behind it makes me happy cry.  It is wonderful that he is watching over you.

I've never stitched a hoop, so, I can't give any advice, but it looks good to me.

It was very interesting to read how oak trees, and their leaves and acorns, have always been present at important points in your life.  I also like your acorn tattoo; you're the first person I've ever seen sporting one of those!

Love your personal story!

Acorns are just so cute...love the stitches you used, even though I have no idea of their names either! Grin

I learned from kittykill to stitch what you love...you can use anything as the subject and any kind of stitches that gets it done!
