I'm currently doing some experiments with fiber and metal. My metal smithing skills are not profound!! lol!!
and of course, I have to work with what I have on hand which also is limiting - still fun to do! =^..^=

I think your experiment turned out lovely!
I especially like the colours of the wool and the wavy pattern, plus the metal beads.

This is neat! Did you felt/make the egg yourself?

I think my favorite part is the little spikes!

Looking for poly-clay earrings: one bacon, one fried egg. Also, a mishmash of red/orange/gold bracelets--beaded, braided, bangles, whatever! If you have the supplies, let's talk! (Please?) I'll swap all kinds of things in return!

THANKS!!!

This project didn't develop along the lines I had originally envisioned. I had been admiring Kathleen Dustin's latest polymer clay brooches and noted that she was making use of metal to extend the design beyond the edge which is both every effective and very interesting.
Initially I was going to do something similar, but it isn't really helpful when the basic form is so .......... EGG shaped ... and being close to Easter and always having loved dyeing eggs this time of year. Well one thing followed another. I briefly tried making the current design layer an underlayer where these colors would peek out, but that just wasn't working for me. The gold beads were an obvious choice to echo the metallic rolling waves at the top. The spiral was an afterthought which I felt was enough to "finish" the piece.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy  =^..^=
