I made this for Missingwillow in the IYP swap. Since she has a farm with sheep, it seemed perfect to make a sheep inspired tote for her.

The outer fabric was given to me from a friend's mother's stash when she passed sway.  She was an incredibly talented seamstress and knitter...she also painted, was an excellent cook, and loved to teach. It is heavy duck that ravels easily, so I zig zagged all of the seams and double sewed them...I also top-stitched them down.

I was inspired by a Pinterest picture of a sheep pillow that I had found a few years ago and had drawn it on a napkin...the sheep fabric was also in that stash given to me. I barely had enough scraps to make the ears!  Wool felt is used and some embroidery.  I think anyone can easily put whatever image they want on a bag!  Pretty fun and simple.

The lining is interfaced with pellon.  At the last minute, I decided a tote needed to have a pocket.  I undid the lining and put in a zippered pocket.  I can tell it has been a while since I put in a pocket...I kept sewing the zipper in with the raw edges showing!!  I swear I did the same mistake three times! UGH!  lol I asked MW if she was right or left handed...she asked me why on earth did I need to know that...well, because I had to know which side to have the zipper pull...most right handed people open a zipper from left to right and left handed people (like me!) open from right to left.  It is one of those quirky things I hate about store bought purses made for right handed people...we lefties need our own purses... Grin.

Anyway, the lining is of small tree branches...it was so smooth to touch and on sale...YAY!

Here is the tote, finally:

(with cat toy pickle...ha ha)

One more just cos...

I love this SO much!  I was truly confused with the dominant hand question.  Who knew it made a difference on a zipper direction but it makes perfect sense!  I intend to use this weekly for a purpose it's perfect for!  It's so special where the fabric came from.  Thank you again, alwaysinmyroom!   Kiss

Thanks, everyone!  It was originally going to be pillow, like the Pinterest inspired pic I had, but MW and I are very practical people, so I thought a tote would be better.  I made it sturdy so she can carry veggies, jars of honey, eggs, or whatever and really use it. It is meant to be practical as well as fun.  And yeah, I also kept petting the sheep! ha ha
