My fiance was saying we needed coasters so I pulled out the plastic canvas that alwaysinmyroom had sent me and some yarn and hit Pinterest for ideas.
I had saved a lot of Perler bead and cross stitch patterns with Mario as the theme and decided that I would use some of the iconic images for our coasters.
These are a little over 3"x3" (I accidentally cut them as 22 sqs x 22 sqs instead of 21x21) and were worked using the tent stitch and Red Heart yarns. They're backed with felt interfacing to keep them from sliding around.

Great stuff!  You did a nice job on all eight and they look pixel-accurate to my eyes.   The Pirana Plant is my favorite, but I have a fondness for them to begin with.  I'd never be able to use them though, as Mario would never forgive me if I stained them--they'd be "just for lookin' at" instead!

They look good, they are fun and bright. That's such a great idea.

A few of our friends have "claimed" coasters: they chose coasters as theirs to use when they're visiting Cheesy
