I started making these zipper wallets for my kids. I have 7 and trying to teach them money management like I'm learning in Life Leadership's Financial Fitness I'm doing. Each kid gets a set of 3 wallets that are fully lined and have iron on labels of "spend" "save" and "give" on them. The idea is that 10% of their allowance goes to give, 10% to save and the 80% left over is for spending on stuff they need or want. They have simplified check book style sheets for them and we made like a savings thermometer looking chart for those kids that are saving for something specific (like my 13 year old wants a new ipod touch)

My husband and I co-parent 7 kids. And we like to make different shit. Some of it we sell.  www.etsy.com/shop/80thirteen

I'm familiar with the money management program and I think your idea is cute and pure genius!

My parents taught me that same money management theory, but I used to keep my allowance in separate baby food jars. Your way is much cuter; I love the fabric choices you made. Great idea for teaching kids about money management!
