i found a mccalls pattern for a strapless dress. http://www.mccallpattern.com/item/M4440.htm?tab=dresses&page=3  you could try something like that with a slight modification to the bust edge to get that nice shaping.  with a little extra fabric you could make the kangaroo pocket and the sash.  i'd say go for a basic pattern and then alter it from there.  good luck!

I've never made a dress.. but it  looks like a strapless sundress with a pocket..

I'm sorry, I can't help, but that is SO weird - I just bought that McCalls pattern yesterday!!!
So, err, I could, like... look at it to see if it's good or something...?
