sheepblue! If that's the water tower I think it is, I went to school in that city! Unless there's more than one such water tower in Michigan. Maybe there are. I can't quite make out the text on that patch/souvenir, but it looks like there's some kind of pond at the "base" of the tower, and the tower I'm thinking of is smack in the middle of a street so...no water.

In any case, what an amazing swap package! Fantastic work!

Looking for poly-clay earrings: one bacon, one fried egg. Also, a mishmash of red/orange/gold bracelets--beaded, braided, bangles, whatever! If you have the supplies, let's talk! (Please?) I'll swap all kinds of things in return!

Yay! I'm so happy you like it all jemimah! I was so paranoid the whole time that my package to you wouldn't be up to snuff. You are such a rockstar, my swap anxiety kicked in pretty hard  Cheesy

It's the Ypsilanti water tower so I think you're thinking of the correct building  Cheesy What looks like water on the sticker is actually a blue car. I'll see if I can find a better picture to show off the sticker later  Wink

Lovely art work, what did you use to create the texture? (No not nosy in any way  Roll Eyes )
Very pretty necklace too!! Fabric or yarn or ?? (See not nosy!)

wendiek - the texture was created with mostly gesso, though there's scraps of a rough textured doily too. And I used some crackle paint though that is rather subtle compared to all the other textures going on. Oh and I used crumpled tissue for the top portion of the painting.

And the necklace was wrapped in a beautiful gray yarn I had a bit of, and then the aqua blue part is some thin wire that was wrapped over that.

The fiber necklace is simple wonderful!

I love the textures on the art piece (and yes, we need an art swap!)...I also would be interested (nosy) to know how it was done! Grin

The Dalek scarf is fabulous as well....you also just gave me an idea of what I might do with my crow fabric from edel!  I want to be able to show it off and a scarf is perfect!

Once again, the IYP gallery is one of the best and one of my favorites!!!

HSG, are you sure alteredmommy hasn't been stalking you in some way? That painting was obviously inspired by the colors of your room. It's perfect!

Sheepblue, I love that tree you painted as well. It's just gorgeous.

Oh wow, I love the paintings!
am, when I think of you, I always think of vivid turquoise and orange and red. That photograph is gorgeous...love the color and texture of it.
And the birches in your lively, wonderful painting.....LOVE.
sheepBlue, your painting is so delicately beautiful and the texture of the snow is perfect.  The scarf is one of a kind, so fun! And such a pretty necklace! Love all the texture you put into your art!

Love the IYP.

Thanks a lot for answering all my questions SheepBlue!  Cheesy

I bought some gesso but I'm just not that artsy, haha! I really love your tree and maybe I will try it again. I'm not that good at drawing and/or painting, so I should try something else.

The necklace is so gorgeous, I must try that too some day!
Thanks for the inspiration.  Smiley

An art swap sounds great, if MAQ counts as art too  Cheesy I can work with fabric  Wink
