I crocheted a few hats last year and never posted them here, so maybe this way I do post them.

I've added a few links of hats I can crochet as a gift this year!  Smiley (lots of babies in my area that will be born this year)

My list in 2016:
1. Baby owl hat
2. Berry baby hat
3. Baby sun hat/ cowboy hat Thanks for the idea AIMR!!

Teehee, that's why I didn't look at the patters that got posted here, I will add a gazillion to my ever growing to do list!  Wink

I crocheted a fun monster hat, a zebra-hat, a night helmet-hat (my oldest son needed that for a school play) and then the youngest wanted another hat too so I made him a shark hat. They are all fun to crochet, I will have to take pics and show them. Oh and post the patterns of course, I think I got them from Ravelry.

Yes, baby hats is a great idea! I know a few future mommies, I wanted to make them a pair of cute boots, but I don't like crocheting the same pattern twice to get the job done  Tongue haha!

Here's my first hat of 2016! It's the Northern Stripes Beanie. It came out a little bigger than I expected, so I wish I'd made the smaller size. I made it in our new school colors. They used to be black with red or white, but the principal switched them to more closely align with the colors of the high school (royal blue and white). Our colors are royal, white, and silver/grey. I had grey yarn in my stash, but I found a shade at the store that was closer to silver, so I grabbed a skein.

Nice!  Those are also the colors of my husband's favorite college football team--Penn State!  I like that pattern, too!

Thanks! And, I guess they're the colors of the Dallas Cowboys, as well. I'm almost out of the royal blue yarn, so I might have to pick up another skein or two. We have Spirit Week events at school a couple of times a year, and there's almost always a school/city colors day. I think some more hats in this color scheme will be a hit with the students!

It's not my favorite team either Smiley As for the snow, I'm sort of hoping it doesn't make it up to the North. Although, if it does, an all day event on Saturday would get postponed, which would make me very happy! Except, then I'd have to shovel Sad

Oooooh! I like the lining on that hat, that1girl! I have plans to line my sun hat, but I never thought about lining a winter hat! Such a great idea!

I picked up some more royal blue yarn today and some Aran yarn to use for hats. I think I know what I'm making next, but I could change my mind Smiley

I finished my hat for tomorrow! It's the "Hat with Tassels" and I had to add an extra repeat (plus a few extra stitches in the starting chain) because I crochet pretty tightly (or I have a big head Smiley ). I also changed how I made my tassels- I twisted  2 strands of yarn together and then folded them in half to create the thicker twist, and then I tied the end into a knot. I trimmed that end for a bit of fringe and, at the other end, I put a piece of yarn through the loop and used that to attach it to the hat. I like how it looks!

I just noticed that the hat is on backwards in the photo. And, somehow, my join gave me a diagonal seam, and I don't know why... But, no matter! I have a hat for the game!

My neighbor across the street belongs to a church group that makes and collects hats for all sorts of groups, including neonatal units, prisons, and the homeless shelters.  I have been destashing all sorts of supplies, so I decided to use up my small balls of leftover acrylic yarns to make a bunch of hats...

These are my two favorites made by tying all of the tiniest leftovers and just letting the pattern go however it wanted...scrappy leftover hats! Grin

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

Destashing is always good, but doing it for a charitable purpose makes it ten times better. Lovely hats, too! I think I like the scrappy ones the most.

I tried to crochet a hat tonight, but spent too much time deciding on a pattern, so I didn't get it finished. I wanted to wear it to a hockey game tomorrow night. I'll finish it soon, and get at least one more hat posted for the year. I was a bit of a slacker in the hat department this year!
