Yes, this is a little known fact, "KIng Kong was Cookie Monster's Great Great Grandpa". He wasn't going for the girl, she just got in the way...or he hoped she could bake. I made this for the holidays, and the kids loved it. It didn't last very long, we had to do a contest for who got to eat the plane and the King himself. So these are the best pics I got. BTW, it was very warm here in Connecticut on Christmas day, looked and felt more like early October.

So here he is, eating his way up the Empire State Building, which is sticking out of the clouds.

I would have wanted to be in the contest to eat King Kong too.  Great job!

what I did not foolishly do, is bake a lot of gingerbread King Kongs. I have some Ninjabread cookie cutters that are close enough. King himself was cut by hand and modified to work with the Empire State building....but after you bite the head off, who can tell?

Wow, that is just wonderfully creative and beautiful!  You did a great job on the shapes of the building, ape, and biplane, and I like how you did almost all of the detailing in frosting too, rather than candy pieces.  If there's such a thing as a King Kong museum, this deserves to be a center piece in their exhibits.
