We're in the middle of freezing and below freezing high temps for a bit, so I decided to make colored ice marbles for the fence posts again!

The road bisects our properties up here and I installed the marbles on the old, rickety "lower pasture" fence across the road from the house side of the property because it's closer to the road and the fence posts have tops for them to be placed on.

I did this a couple years ago, too, and posted a tutorial on my blog:

What a cool idea!  {snicker} like stained glass in the snow.

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

I bet the neighbours (do you have those?) enjoy your seasonal decor; I know I appreciate you sharing all of the wonderful things you've been creating for your beautiful home. I promise to go roll on the beach for you if you make a snow angel for me!

haha! At least with the snow I won't be finding grains of it on my for day! Wink

We do have neighbors, but because our road is a loop and we are near the top/center we don't get many passing through. However our new next door neighbor walks through occasionally and the neighbor who plows the roads drives thru, but usually at 2:00 AM!

Once it gets cold enough, I am definitely making some of these this year! It's currently 57 degrees and raining in central MA, so I'll have to wait a bit. I'm planning to put some in my yard and some in the courtyards at school (I just need to sneak in early or stay late to put them out as a surprise). I bought balloons the last time you made these, but I don't know where they are. I guess I have a little time to find them Smiley

Fun! They do take a couple days to freeze solid in the freezer and the parts touching other things are the last to freeze.

I have a chest freezer that has some room, so I might pop them in there. Once I get my hands on the balloons, I can get started! And, not that I'm asking for it to get cold and snowy, but I can't put them out until it does Smiley

We also have a chest freezer and it took a couple days for them to freeze all the way through in there. This year it was in the single digits at night when I made them so I just set them outside on top of the trash can to freeze! Flipped them over after several hours to freeze the side touching stuff faster.

If I get balloons tomorrow and start them now, they'll be frozen by the time we get any snow, possibly next weekend.

Thanks! We had a warm spell (by which I mean 6-8 degrees warming than freezing) and they're pretty much gone now. If I remember to find some better balloons, I might make more this year!
