Not sure this is quite destashing, but at least it is using up some of the stuff I save...Grin.

First of all, I have a chart of what I call my "FABRIC HIERARCHY"...it is to remind me how I use my fabrics to the bitter end...

I have been doing the quilt blocks swaps so I had a bunch of fabrics that were just too small to use for anything else...also, I save the cuttings and thread bits from sewing and embroidery... (yes, it is a sort of addiction/illness, I know)...

I then find a piece of fabric that I am not that wild about or that is too small to make anything I want, cover it with BONDO, lay all the stuff all over (you might need to tear some pieces smaller)...press the heck out of it with a piece of parchment over so as not to ruin my iron...

I then wanted to cover it with some organza, but all I had left was blue...ick...and it covered too much...save it for another project...

It dawned on me that I also save these really cool clear organza bags from a company in the UK called Woolwarehouse, that ships all their yarns in these bags...perfect!

Pin and stitch like a crazy person, all willy nilly...

Ta-da---new fabric, to use for prayer flags, journals, fabric journals, ATCs, anything!

I like the bit of shimmer from the organza, but I saw a technique that if you wanted to, you could burn it off with a heat gun...maybe next time I will try it when I can be outdoors and not risk burning down my house...I bet it would work with washable Solvy as well...I'll try that and report back...

So far, nothing has reached the last step, THE TRASH, since whatever bit I trimmed off of this piece are back in the bins to use for another project... Grin.

AIMR - um WOW! That fabric you created is amazing!!! I gotta try that. Using all those scraps reminds me of some selveges I've been saving for like 8 years.

Craftylittlemonkey- Don't lose hope! I was there too. It will take time and I've had my mom helping but I still have so so so much to unpack and organize. It'll get there!

Quaggy- those bunnies are so cute! And you have an eye for quilting love all the blocks and words!

Thanks all.

quaggy and I are making word quilt blocks for sloth003...she is a hoot and wanted some off color words...Grin.  I think she got one that said "Arse" as well...I will have to think about what naughty word I am going to do for her Grin.

Working on two more fabric pieces...I think they will work nicely with the upcoming Prayer Flag Swap...sign up now and we might be partners! Grin
