Driftwood: you totally can. That was actually my original plan. But I loved this yarn and was feeling impatient.  Wink It ended up taking me about 30 minutes rather than hours.

I am in destashing this year, albeit off to a slow start as I've been sick for nearly 3weeks now. I am going to focus on reducing my yarn stash (mainly so I can buy more nice yarn without feeling guilty). I have  managed to knit 2 hats and finish off a shawl so that is about 100-150g's of yarn used.

I NEED that shawl in my life!
I'm using my stash too but it's currently just floss... but stash is stash, right?

I was inspired by TheMistressT, so I also made gift boxes from an old calendar! Thanks for the idea.

I had a few issues with pattern placement, but I enjoyed the project. Yesterday I went through my clothing to reconstruct boxes, so next I'm going to take on my collection of old jeans. I'm thinking a few bathmats with towel backing, one of these potholders, and maybe a coiled seam bag from the scraps!

Nice boxes...I pinned the boxes you guys made for possible future uses of my massive calendar stash...ha ha I bought 2 more of them today because they were on sale for 88 cents!!!

I also love your ideas for using up old jeans...those potholders would be great for the grill this summer!

texscrapper...lots of destashing going on at your house!  I just love seeing your lovely fabrics being used!

Yey for using the old calendar stash, Acadian Driftwood! Can't wait to see your denim projects.

texscrapper, you are a stash busting machine!

I don't know if this is exactly De-stashing, maybe more stash justification? But The ManFlesh got some really good news yesterday about a very long term personal project so I dug out my "random party decorations" box to liven up the house as a surprise for him when he came home from work. I had a selection of tissue-paper decorations (Chinese lanterns, tissue flowers & rosettes, etc.) from various thrift store finds over the years, balloons left over from my 40th birthday (5 years ago!), and a fabric bunting I made for that birthday, too. I made the bunting deliberately to function for various celebrations and have used it a few times, but not for a couple of years.

Here's the original post for the bunting: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=370902.0
