I gave a friend a new Spirograph for Christmas and that got me all excited to dig up my OLD (partial) set to make thank you notes after the holidays. I just needed to get pens, It turned out to be harder than I thought it would be to get a decent sized set of colored pens and I ended up getting a set 30 gel pens: 10 glitter, 10 neon, and 10 metallic. Why no regular pen sets, Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft?

Glitter Spiro:

Neon Spiro:

Metallic Spiro:

Plenty for Christmas thank you notes + a few extra!

Thanks! I am hoping to get some more time to explore some of the other ways of using the various pieces to make more stuffs! If anyone can get you an old set it's OMP! They sell new sets, too. I saw them at BB&B and World Market this year and I bet dept stores with toy sections have them, too.

These are just flat-out beautiful.
You've got mad skills. There's not a wiggle or a skip in the lot. I'm seriously impressed.

Thank you! I am smitten.

Oh, but their are skips and wiggles! Hoo boy! It turns out you're never too old to suck at Spirograph!

Very cool looking! Fantastic color combos, and I bet it was relaxing to do once you got the hang of it (again). I have an old set sitting in my craft room, and I can always use end of the year thank you cards. Now, I'm inspired!

Did you fold the cards first, or just pay extra attention to where to stop at the fold?

Thanks! Have fun!

Neither! I used 12" x 12" scrapbook papers and just went to town making random spiros all over them, then cut them to fit the 5.5" x 4"cards. I could get 6 cards per sheet. I did go off the edge of that paper, putting a scrap underneath to keep the work surface clean.
