Here are a few things I have been working on this month:
I am teaching my son how to sew with a frontiersman shirt, and I  recreated a pair of flap front  britches for him. (We are going to go to a Rendezvous and Williamsburg in the next few months). I researched them and attempted to make them historically accurate. I used Linen cloth and wooden buttons.  I ordered the buttons online and they were larger than I was expecting, all well.  I did have to use a snap in one spot (well hidden) as the flap was drooping.  If the buttons had been smaller I might of been able to use a few along the top.  Seeing as the pants will only be worn a few times, before my son outgrows them, I am not going to replace the large buttons.  It was an interesting project, and if I can ever talk my husband into dressing up for a rendezvous I would make them again.  They need a good ironing- but here they are--

Some bookmarks and soft neck pillows:

so many awesome things you guys did while I was up to my eyes in wedding!  (those frontier pants are the bomb!)

As requested, wedding pics, just a few...

This one was during the set up, just to give an idea of how it all came together.  The food was served in the ramada off to the left, and the bar was over there as well.  The ramada to the right had the gift / guest book table.  It was not a huge wedding, but it was happy.  And best of all, the bride and groom were able to pay for it without going into debt.  That's a great way to start a marriage!

I love those pants!  Historic details of sewing from the past fascinate me...it is hard to imagine a world without zippers...

oh bunny!  I bet you are glad it is done...what a lovely wedding setting!  Very memorable....you did a lot for it and now I can see all the work you had to put in to keep it reasonable for the kids!  No sense going into debt when the meaning and memory of this special day is all that is needed!  Beautiful!
