I bought this pattern a while ago and decided to use some vintage yarn I had to make a mermaid tail blanket. It smells like crayons for some reason, so I need to go buy some febreeeze but it is warm and comfortable. I am happy with how it turned out.

Will that actually fit an adult human? Or is it child size for an itsy-bitsy? It looks sort of between size.

Very interesting about the crayon "flavour". It might have been a waxed yarn? Hot water and vinegar might settle the fragrance. Or a good dish soap that will cut the wax off. A mild degreaser chemical.

Very unique project. I just might have to pattern and craft one out of fabric. It looks comfy, but I don't crochet fast or very well. I would be better off to quilt mine. But thanks for the idea! I have not grown fond of the "snuggies" people keep giving me. But something to keep my legs and feet warm. Mmmm.

I haven't seen a knit one but I am sure there are probably knit patterns for this out there.

Adorable I see these all over pinterest.
Maybe use some cool water and fabric softener?
I'm not a pro with yarn but it'll smell pretty (:

It looks fantastic Rantyhippie! I really like the variegation on the yarn on the fins and top of the tail. May I ask who wrote the pattern you used? I'd really like to try making my own!
