Part needle felt, but mostly sewing...

I'm so excited to share this piggy macaron coin purse tutorial with you!  I love macarons and I have been wanting to make a macaron coin purse for a long time!  I just haven't gotten around to it.  Then when I found these macaron coin purse inserts at Daiso, I had to give them a try.  This was my first attempt at making a macaron coin purse, and it's not perfect.  But I'm happy with how it turned out cosmetically!

I was inspired to make this by a little tiny piggy macaron that we won at the UFO Catcha!  Actually we won a whole set of animal macarons.  I decided to do the piggy because I had the supplies on hand.

The needle felting portion of this tutorial is fairly easy.  I found sewing the zipper to the macaron shell to be the most difficult part!

Let me know in the comments if you would like to see tutorials for additional kawaii macaron purses!

I have a few improvements for next time.  For instance, my lining was too thick and I had a hard time zipping my coin purse shut.  Next time I will use a thinner fabric for the inside, instead of felt.  It has to be something that won't fray on the ends though.

I used a pre-made macaron insert, and I understand that most of you may not have access to this.  In place of a macaron insert, you can use a piece of cardboard cut into a circle, with a bit of batting stuffed on top.  I watched a few other tutorials on YouTube before making this and everyone pretty much used those materials.  But if you have access to Daiso and can purchase these things, I recommend buying them!  It comes with 3 in a pack.
