Headed to my craft room to start on my blocks....time is ticking by and I go back to work Monday.  Thought I would make progress while I was off but none was made.

I got all the strips cut, then sewn together in pairs, at which point I put them aside to work on Christmas presents. Hope to get started again tomorrow or Monday. I don't think they'll take long once I'm back in the groove.

Made my first block today! I'd never made one of these,so of course I decide to start by upcycling stretchy shirts for fabric because the colors and patterns are perfect for my partner. It didn't turn out perfect, but it still looks pretty good. Those 1/4" seams, and matching corners are tricky for me.

I am guessing you are having issues due to your fabric type. Quilts are typically made with 100% cotton which do not stretch much.

I have 2 blocks completed & the rest are in the tube stage Smiley I should be done this week Smiley Smiley

It is good that you tested the block first!

Except for t-shirt quilts, I never heard of blocks made of anything other than quilting cottons...I would think it would make it very difficult to match seams, corners and such due to the stretch...very interesting...and I suppose the whole quilt would have to be made of the same fabrics as well?  To be consistent with the other swappers, I would advise sticking to the cotton unless you and your partner agreed on another fabric.

I really need to do that each time just to understand the pattern...I have cut out all of my strips, so hopefully, I can sew them together quickly because I am sure the undoing part is going to be the death of me!

I can't stop. Ive made eleven so far and have the strip sets ready to five more. I'm using the boys to pick fabric and make sets so there's some really interesting things happening.

My kiddo is having difficulty letting go of matching and order. It's pretty funny...

Hubby took a few to get what was happening, now he is trying to come up with the most outlandish groups...
