Or you could slice them into chunks (across ways) and use as hairbands.

I do have the [practically] indestructible tights -- American Apparel's opaque. Though I don't see them on their site anymore. Sad

For my destroyed old tights, I wear them as long johns on super-cold days, if you live in as cold an area as I do.
