Moved from: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?board=196.0

We will be holding our auction from April 4-8, 2016.  Please send your donations to Difference Makers by March 16th if possible so that I can get everything ready. Thank you my wonderful friends!  Smiley
Please send me your:
      name
      company name
      website
business card (1 for each item since people may gift them and 1-2 extra for me to share with others that might have lost the bidding and would like to contact you) to the following address:

Difference Makers
Attn: Bryan Goehring/Craftsters
9295 Maxwell Court, Laurel MD 20723

Please mark it Crafsters otherwise they might open it up and lose the contents and please PM me when you send to them so that I can ask Bryan to be on the lookout for it.  Thanks!  Smiley

I realize some of you might just be donating and not wanting customers, but I thought I'd just put it out there for those that might.  Not everyone is as lucky as we are to be in Craftster swaps.  Thanks! Smiley

Hi all!
Lana is a member of a wonderful non-profit, student run organization called the Difference Makers (http://www.difference-makers.org/).  Their mission is to help raise tomorrow's leaders by giving them opportunities to lead and serve the community (snow shovelling, homeless, etc).  This has grown from a middle school organization in 2009 to including several new 3 high schools this year with plans to expand into more MS soon.  To date their leader has been paying for the operational costs out of his pocket. He's a middle school science teacher and you all know how much I love science!  He is really the most selfless person I have ever met and I felt that I couldn't just sit there and not try to help him.  We are now working on a silent auction to help pay the increasing operational costs as these programs expand.  I am hoping that my amazing Craftsters family will be able to donate a crafted item for this auction.  The items will be put on display for 1 week during which time the students can bid on them and will end with a night event on April  16 where parents can come in and bid on the items.  Please see their Facebook/youtube pages to see all the great things they've been doing and please 'like' it!
Thanks for considering it! Smiley

I'm in... I will go through my stuff and send some things out, but probably not for a couple of weeks (but that gives me time to make things too).

I don't think I have your address saved, so if you can PM me.

Absolutely - I know I would love to see and hear how it went  - especially to hear if it went over well or not.

I wonder, if you have the time, or know people who were willing to donate experience/time/materials - would people be interested in buying a workshop to learn to do things too... or kits for things - DIY cards, jewelry, decorate a mug, ornaments - something along those lines?

I'm in as well. I hope you do post pictures of the auction and follow up stories and whatnot. It's always very exciting to see how donating to such worthy causes works out in the end  Cheesy

Cool!  I will definitely post about it!  Smiley

Hmm, I don't know.  I do know that some of the kids auction off their filing services and the same thing with the teachers that have outside interests like hiking, etc.  I was thinking of offering a jewelry class, but I'm not sure how it would go over.  I figured I could do that the next time around once we get some data on this event.  Smiley

I definitely will.  I'm helping with their Facebook page and will definitely post both here and there...though more here.  LOL.  I can't wait to see how this all goes over.  Smiley

Thanks again all!!  Smiley

We're still waiting on the date.  They have an officers meeting on Tues so hopefully by the end of it we will have a date.  Smiley
