My MIL and her sister have both retired recently and purchased a vacation condo in the same development as their brother so the family can still all get together in a place more fun and appealing than their home town (which will remain unnamed). It's brand new so they are having to furnish it from the ground up, so when I saw more etched glass baking dishes on pinterest I got inspired to make a few for the new place!

I found some clipart online that I modified to add the "Est. 2015" and simplified to make less detailed. Snowflakes, because it's located in a big ski area. A closer look.

The smaller dish has their unit number on it.

I picked up a couple of silicone pot holders my MIL's favorite color to go with them for part of her Christmas gift.

Thanks, y'all!

Yes! And because the MIL and her sister have different names and most of the pinterest pins are for putting your name on there for potluck situations which I imagine they won't be doing a lot of at the vacation condo, it took me awhile to come up with ideas for what to put on them.

Great gifts. Smiley Did you etch inside or underneath? Which etch did you use?

I etched the exterior bottom, so had to remember to make the words backwards! I used standard Amour Etch cream and the dishes are Anchor brand. I have a friend who had trouble etching Pyrex brand several years ago and even though I don't know all the details of her project I decided to try the other major brand... and it worked!

What a great idea! I'm going to have to give this a try.

I want to do more, but not sure what or who for!

Beautiful and artful. I like the idea to be able to find your dish easily after a potluck.
Thanks for the tip about the other brand. Next time I'll etch some glasses I will etch some dishes too.
