Details of swap:  This swap was organized so everyone can get something crafty for their birthday!  Please read the guidelines carefully.

**You have ONE WEEK after being approved for this swap in which to make your first claim!**

1.   This swap is list style, like the Ongoing Wish Swap.  However, it is NOT chain style. You can choose any birthday Craftsters list that is posted, rather than only being able to pick from the last one posted like in the OWS.

2.   This is a medium item swap. A medium item is defined as a craft or recon, etc that takes you two hours to complete OR $20 worth of store bought items. (If bought from a thrift store, estimate what it would have cost new.) However, you may also substitute a few small items for a medium.

3.   If your birthday is in swap's current 3 months posted, you can post your birthday wish list for this time period. To do that, you must first PM me with the swap questionnaire filled out and wait for approval. While you're waiting, be sure to post in the discussion/gallery thread: Gallery and Discussion

4.   Once you have been approved, you may post your list of things that you would like to receive.  Please see "Tips to Creating a Good List" below.

5.   Please post lists only in this thread. Discussion can be done here in the combined discussion/gallery thread.  Gallery and Discussion

6.   Every birthday participant must make at least one claim.
     a.  New swappers may only have one outstanding claim at a time
     b.  FOC may have up to 3 outstanding claims at a time
     c.  Everyone else may have up to 2 outstanding claims at a time

7.   The "extras" are just that--extra items you may want to throw in if you are feeling generous, but claims cannot be solely extras.

8.   You may get claimed more than once, but your minimum amount to claim is one.  It is possible you may not get claimed at all. In this case you will not be provided a swap angel; angels are only if you get flaked on. However I do my best to make sure everyone gets claimed by keeping track of how many times each person is claimed. If possible try to pick someone who has been claimed 0 times versus someone who has been claimed 3 times.  Help me keep it fair!

9.   If it is not your birthday but you would like to send a birthday present out you may do so.  Fill out the Un-birthday swapper questionnaire and send it to me for approval.

10.   Birthday swappers who receive a present from a non-birthday swapper must send a snail mail thank you card.  You will not receive feedback until I hear from the other swapper that they have received a thank you card.  Again help me keep it fair!  Its only polite to thank the person who sent you a birthday gift!

11.   When you choose to fulfill a birthday wish, PM both the organizer AND the chosen Craftster.  Please include whether or not you are a birthday swapper or Un-birthday swapper.  At that time, please request the address from the receiver for where to send it.  After that, you have 2 weeks to get the item out the door.

12.   It is super important for everyone to keep good communication.  It is REQUIRED that you PM me when you've sent and of course, don't forget the DC#.  It is REQUIRED that when you receive, you PM me and publicly announce in the gallery (even if you don't have pictures).  If you do not send the appropriate PMs, you will receive poor communication feedback.

13.   When one of your items is chosen, please cross it out so that it is easier for others to see what has been chosen. (It wouldn't hurt to thank the person at this time either.)  You can do this by using the modify or edit option on your original post.

14.   If you are sending late you must PM BriannaB03 by your send-out date.  If your send-out date comes and goes and you dont PM me, you will receive poor communication feedback.  It should not be my job to hunt you down and find out what is going on. (Im not yo mama!  Wink)

15.   If you are flaked on in this swap you will receive an angel, but only in the amount of packages to which you also sent out. For instance, if you send out 2 packages, and are claimed for 3 packages but are flaked on once, you will not receive an angel because you already received 2 packages, which is equal to what you sent. If you send 1 package and are claimed for 1 package and you are flaked on, you will receive 1 angel.

Become an FOC Here

I want everyone to get picked so here are some tips for a well-rounded list:

--Include a short bio and information such as favorite colors, likes/dislikes, and allergies.

--Make sure your items are actually mediums and smalls. Quilts are not mediums. Large painted portraits are not mediums. Hand knit sweaters are not mediums. This isnt to say that you cant have any large items on your list (some generous soul may have the time and the inclination to choose one of those!), but the majority of the list should be smaller items

--Listing A surprise plus a well filled out Craftster profile and a link to your pinterest (with a decent amount of items on it) is always helpful in getting chosen.  Who doesnt like a surprise?!

--Make sure to post a variety of crafting techniques. If you list appliqud t-shirts in five various themes and count that as your required five items, that is more like one item for someone to choose, not five. Having various crafting methods (sewn, knit, crocheted, paper crafted, jewelry, etc.) is going to make it easier for people to choose you.

--Include links, if possible.

--Check out other lists in past Birthday swaps and the Ongoing Wish Swap for ideas for things you never knew you wanted!

Hello, my name is Aislyn. After being away from America for four years I have relocated to CA.  My Birthday is on Halloween! I have a rescued Persian cat named Squid that I found in S.Korea, and 3 younger siblings who I adore. The youngest one and I have a 25 year age gap!

For the most part, my wishlist is merely filled with suggestions. If you see anything on my pinterest that inspires you, or you can craft something that you think I'll like, then please feel free to claim me or send me a pm if you are unsure. I still use many of the items that I have received in swaps years ago, and cherish the well-made gifts partners have sent me.

I love useful things that are small since I like to move often. Anything that is cat themed, kawaii/cute, Halloween, or a bit gothy would be delightful!

Please don't send anything with crosses, Christmas themes, angels, or demons since I am Jewish. I'm not religious, but still don't feel comfortable with it. Jewish paraphernalia is welcome.

I love and cherish embroidered items but have no use for hoops.
I've received embroidered items in past swaps which I continue to love and use.
Ideas for embroidered stuff that are not hoops:

Soap in Gourmand scents
Cat-food bowl-my cat's name is Squid if you want to personalize it.

Hocus Pocus pillow: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/151785449918495129/ (The quote would be cool on other stuff as well)

I would love anything tatted! I had two tatted necklace that I got in a swap that I wore until they broke.
An embroidered necklace would be amazing! I would love one with a more complex star of David, but any design will be loved as long as it looks nice. Here is an example:  https://www.pinterest.com/pin/151785449918543581/

I would absolutely love to have a personal swap! I'm interested in jewelry, soap, and anything that inspires you on my Pinterest
« Reply #3 on: October 27, 2015 09:39:47 PM »

Happy Birthday fellow swappers.  I am Sandra from Salt Lake City, Ut.  I am married with 3 children.  I am a Teaching assistant, part time.  I have a history degree and am working on my teaching degree.  I love to travel and learn about everything.  I dabble in sewing, pottery, gardening, design, papercrafts and a few other crafts.  I have no allergies.  I love all colors but prefer Orange not to be the main color.
I have a huge, out of control Pinterest.  You can take inspiration from anything for a surprise, or use the boards that I would love-- but know I will probably never get around to making--
for the kid in me:
I love Harry Potter ( you will see lots of Potter items in my swap ideas and on event: Halloween board.)
I love American Girl Dolls and could always use more outfits.  I prefer 1 well crafted item over a whole costume.  In other words a detailed shirt instead of a set.    The Historian in me especially loves time period items.

Knit and Crochet- I can not crochet or knit anything beyond dishcloths.
Wool, cotton, bamboo, etc anything but acrylic please.
Love this scarf.  https://www.pinterest.com/pin/177258935309280903/
There are other knit and crochet items on my swap pinterest link above.

Teesha Moore style Harry Potter patches.  One day I will make them into a bag. ( I don't have any so you have free reign, I am Ravenclaw/Hufflepuff)
Mug Rugs (have lots of ideas on pinterest under sewing: mug rugs)
I adore this needlebook    https://www.pinterest.com/pin/179651472608391093/

Embroidery or felt:
ornaments: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/179651472611003551/
love this!! https://www.pinterest.com/pin/179651472607215556/
A plain white pillowcase with my initials embroidered along the open end somewhere (SCSL)  pink thread please-any shade.

Paper Arts:
A wall Hanging inspired by one of these, I can frame it.:

cloud necklace:  https://www.pinterest.com/pin/179651472605237331/

Homemade soap, lotion bars, etc   I love lots of scents except deep musky ones. A few favorites are honeysuckle, peppermint, grapefruit (and other citrus), Love tons of scents.
Love this wreath!  https://www.flickr.com/photos/agah/5435341363/

Any games or Activities that would be helpful in a grade 3-5 classroom.

A small bowl/ bird felted pincushion
Zippers, any size
wine corks, starting to collect for a project
My feet get very cold in the winter.  Fuzzy soft socks would be great.
Can always use more zentangle markers/pens such as Sakura pigma microns.
