Willing to personal swap for art of my doggies!

I made this trio of pendents a few weeks ago.  I was working on a resin magnet project for work, and mixed too much resin.  I hate wasting resin, so I grabbed some packaging and made some pendents on the fly, but I am pretty happy how they turned out.

They are very much so imperfect because of many factors, including the fact that it was quite cold when I was mixing the resin.  Oddly enough, the magnets turned out quite clear, but these had lots of tiny tiny micro bubbles, so I used a bit of mica powder to try to hide that a bit, and in the end, it kind of added to a bit of a dreamy look.

I used re-used plastic packaging as the molds, decorative pen nibs with etched sentiments from the Tim Holtz line, some die cut hearts, and some decorative paper backing that had vintage lettering printed on it for an ode to writing theme.

To add the "inky" swirl, I used a fine tipped toothpick to lightly swirl some silver gray and jet black mica powder into the resin before starting to lay the elements.

I added a bail to the back, but unfortunately the pendents got bumped or something when they were unmolded and the bails were drying in resin, and some spilled over and marred the fronts, so I had to sand off the overage and repour another layer of resin on the front to take away the sanding marks.

More about it on my blog if anyone is interested in seeing some more pics and reading a bit more about it.

Thanks - I figured awhile back there is no need to waste resin - if you over mix too much for your project - use the rest to make a quick pendent, or resin paper.  It's just not worth wasting it, especially as it can be pricey!

Sometimes when it is cold, more microbubbles form and I think that is what happened with these - it was a rather cool night, and we did not have the heat on... but it worked out well!
