That is so wonderful!
Do you make a bodice and sew on the scraps then?
I love the leafs and the sparkle.

Your sewing rocks!  Smiley

Thank you so much , and yes thats how I do it . I start By making a basic bodice ( with or without skirt attached ) ( or you could upcycle a thrifted dress) and then just start layering on the scraps in any haphazard way that appeals to you , the more you bunch and twist the fabric the more awesome the " quilted " texture becomes . its really almost like meditating when you get in the creative zone and just start wildly stitching Smiley

Thanks for answering my question!
Yes, I know what you mean. I've done some art quilts and book covers that way, it is fun and so 'free' to work that way.
Never done it with clothing. If I have the nerve to wear it, I will try it!  Cheesy

I love your scrap dresses.  Cinderella could go to the ball in that without any need for a fairy godmother.

actually they were in a faux flower arrangement , they are made from the same material as " silk " flowers ( Nylon or acetate maybe .. Im not sure their exact makeup ) I thought they looked alot like feathers and I considered adding  real feathers in the mix ... but Im not sure if the recipient is ok with animal sourced materials . This way I got the look without any use of animal products Smiley

This is awesome! It could easily be a woodland faerie costume, but just as well a daring fashion statement for a party
