I wanted to try my hand at wearing fake dreads. So, of course I needed to make a Dreadband. The cool part is, it works for a regular headband too. Bonus!  Grin

If you like this comment and let me know. Craftster is one of the few places I can go to get encouragement. Most people can't tell the difference between Crochet and Knit, or appreciate the time that goes into a project. Yah, it is just a headband, but it took me hours to make and sew all the little pieces on.

Thanks for looking  Grin

It is very BoHo and cute!  I love the fake dreads...so fun!

Yeah..making all of the pieces and then attaching them is a lot of work...not my favorite part either!  Braiding the dreads must have taken forever!

Nice job and the colors are funky and happy!

Thanks! No fake dreads in the picture. The braids are attached to the headband.  I am currently still in the process of making the dreads. It takes a lot of time to make dreads out of roving.

This is wonderful! I wish I had enough hair to wear a big headband like that. I love the flowers on it.

Looking forward to seeing version 2, with all the dreads!  Smiley

I carry a bag that says FREE KNITTING LESSONS on my daily transit commute, & give a little hands-on tutorial to anyone who asks. They get a starter kit with needles, enough cotton yarn to make a plain dishcloth and a set of instructions. Swaps/donations for materials welcome!

It might be a bit of a wait. The dreads take forever. I think I am going to try and color them with Koolaid. I hope it works out. Wish me luck!  Grin
